Happy Easter Pictures

Us Chamberlin's
 With Tom's parents
With Heather's parents and sister Lindsey (Dan had to work)

Easter fun

She managed to stay awake during church by shuffling between mom, both grandmas and Aunt Lindsey-
but now she's not too sure

Matching Easter Sisters

Looking for the Easter Bunny in all the "high" and low places.
After arriving at my Aunt's house, 10 of the "cousins of cousins" and a few adults, went to the school playground about a block away...in search of the Easter Bunny.  Clara wanted to be up on top of the climbing structure with my cousin....they didn't see any bunny though.  The rest of the "cousins of cousins" didn't see the bunny either. Note the walkie-talkie that Kolby is holding --that is our communication with the adults back at the house that are keeping watch out for this quick moving Easter Bunny.  They told us to hurry back...cause....yep the Easter Bunny- was there...they caught sight of him...he is purple, brown and white...he just left the yard--off we went back to the house.
We never caught sight of that quick moving Bunny...but he sure left lots of eggs to find...even some REAL ones....that none of the kids were really too impressed with ;)

More weekend events

Troy's Distinguished Young Women program was this weekend (formerly known as Jr. Miss)
They invited any 1st-6th grade girls to come participate also...and they had about 20 elementary girls come.
These little girls learned about the program and interacted with the High School participants and practiced walking and talking on stage.
So Saturday night was the night, after a crazy day of watching soccer practice and squeezing in Clara's birthday, the Grandmas came with me to watch Kassidy do her spins on stage.

 Kassidy on stage

Kassidy the first one in her group to say her name and grade to the crowd.
She did a GREAT JOB!  We were very proud of her ;)

Happy #2 Birthday Clara

Presents - presents....the other kids were so excited....to help her open her presents it was almost frustrating ;)  but she got them all opened!!  Both sets of Grandparets were here for the celebration and many thanks to them because Clara is hooked up now to: stroll her dressed up baby dolls in her new dress to a tea party where they can read new books and eat from a new snack container while sitting on a stool.

Odd Rainbow

The kids were playing outside a week ago and they all came running inside saying,
"Mom, where's the camera-you have to see the rainbow."
I was confused cause it was a sunny afternoon with no rain(which was amazing in itself..but that's another story :)
This wasn't the kind of rainbow you see arching over the horizon....you had to look straight up in the sky to see this 1/2 circle of a rainbow....very interesting...cause there were no clouds around....or rain ;)

This shot looks as though someone from above is smiling down on us!!!
Look hard you can see our power line in the upper corner and also the 1/2 moon in the sky too.

Pocket Pets

Over Spring Break, Grandma's project was for the kids to make rock pets
from the rocks we collected on the beach.
Here are some of the creations :)

District Pinewood Derby

Kolby didn't qualify for the Championship Class...
but he went to the District Derby and raced in the Open Class.
As we were getting registered....the dreaded statement came..."Mom one of my wheels came off."
"Seriously" was my response...so we went right next door to the Dollar Store in search of some super glue...but they weren't open yet...so he just raced and whatever happened happened.
Yes, his wheel came off during a few of his 4 trips down the track...which got a few laughs from the crowd..but he was a good sport and just kept racing...and got his participation certificate :)

His Scout shirt is still missing...urg!!

Farm Life

As you know we have a bunch of chickens and a rooster.  We are due to get more soon...anyway....With spring trying to come...we have opened up their coop so they can "roam free".Well our rooster has turned out to be a MEAN one....he has attacked all of us...except Clara...thank goodness-cause she wouldn't stand a chance with him.  It was getting to the point that the kids didn't even want to play outside..after the last "attack" Derrick was ready to kill the rooster...and kept asking Tom to do so.

Well Sunday afternoon was time...I told Tom I didn't really want to have to help him - but if he needed me to "buck up" and be his "chicken farmer wife" I would....he said I could keep Clara and the dog in the house...and I said a quick OK!!  Then he took the older 3 kids out with him and killed the rooster and another chicken(who wasn't laying)..the kids were a bit in awe and felt sick the rest of the day....

Now if you ask Derrick where the rooster lives...he says with a smile "In the Fridge"  -so funny....though now when we eat chicken ...he just stares at his plate (as do the other kids--even myself for a bit!)

*There are no pictures for this post....I figured you'd understand...cause really.....there should be no need for explaination!

Spring Creek/Break

The kid's Spring Break was last week and we mostly stayed home...but we took a quick over night trip to Grandpa and Grandma-Nana Boyd's house aka Spring Creek.
It POURED down rain for most the time there...
but we were able to take advantage of a beach walk during a "lite drizzle" time :)

Here's the kids and Grandpa on the BIG ROCK....this rock used to seem huge when I was a kid...but after the many years of high water shifting the beach around.....it's not as huge ;)

Not many "iceburgs" this year...just some soft- melting snow piled up.
*about 3 days after we were visiting...the river rose so much from all the rain and runoff that the beach is covered with water*
Grandpa and Clara waiting and calling for Zoe (their dog) to come up from the beach
Playing so nicely

Grandma-Nana loves her rocks...so on our beach rock we were suppose to find some small, flat rocks for a project she had planned.  So the kids found more than one - of course ;)
Then we washed them, let them dry and made rock pocket pets (pictures soon)

They also got to assist Grandpa in making rolls and Cinnamon Rolls

YUMMY!!

Thanks for the fun times

Falls Creek Water Fall
....there was no traffic so we drove slow to get a picture....

The Trumpeter Swans(the white dots)  near St. Maries on the rice patties
The picture isn't the best...but I was driving you know ;)  they come through every year.

Spring Planting

The kids helped me do some seed starts for this year's garden.
Derrick helped with dirt, and covering seeds, Kassidy wrote all the name tags, Clara....well she helped carry seed packets around :)  and Kolby helped with some dirt and lots of pictures.

In Clara's words "Pumkies" aka Pumpkins, peppers, onions, zinnias and petunias
they will get a head start this year for our garden ;)

Beware of Mud Monsters

Watch out for the Mud Monsters!  The weather was nice enough that the kids thought it was summer or something...cause they played outside and turned into these creatures by the end of the day.....the littlest monster had just gotten out of her bath...so as you can see she has no evidence of how muddy she was ;)

It was a nice April Fools...the weather was the one playing the joke though...cause the rest of the weekend we had everything from lightening and high winds to snow and coldness!!  Welcome Spring ;)
