Hells Canyon Dinner Cruise

BASF is a company that does a lot of business with Primeland or Primeland does a lot of business with BASF...either way....same difference ;)
Well, BASF treated the sales people to a Hells Canyon Dinner Cruise on Sept. 9th, 2011.

There was about a total of 40 or so Primeland employees and their spouses
We left HOT HOT Lewiston at a little after 5pm

Going under the "Blue Bridge"

Those 5 sided rocks...I forget their name.
We even got to see some hierogliphs (sp)

View from boat heading up the Snake River

The moon shining on the water after our nice dinner, before we got back onto the boat.
The boat driver said we'd be racing the darkness and he was right....we rode pretty much all the way home in the dark...getting back to Lewiston after 9pm.

It was a nice evening out.  They even got us rooms in Lewiston....which was kinda funny I thought...since we only live an hour away..but it was a nice date with Tom and...good to get away once in awhile ;)
A HUGE THANKS to Aunt Elaine for staying with the kids overnight for us!!!

Troy Preschool

So, after being a Stay at Home Mom for the past 9 years....I have ventured out in to the "working" world again.  My plan was to wait until Clara went to school here in a few years...but God is funny that way when "you" have it figured out...He laid this job opportunity out and answered all our questions about it..and has made it work for our family ;)

So, Welcome to Troy Preschool!!!
I am the Lead Teacher and I have the sweetest Teacher's Assisstant.
We have 15 kids at the preschool.
Our Preschool week is Tues.- Thurs. 8:30-11

The Birthday Wall....after celebrating 5 in September already...we have none for October...funny!!
********
We are having lots of fun so far!!
The local county fair is going on in Moscow and we entered a project with the kids and just learned they got "Best of Class" for their entry....How exiting...can't wait to go see it.  Teacher Emily helped them make sailboats out of their juice boxes and used a picture of them as the sail....very cute!

Balloon Ride

Last Year Mom and Dad celebrated 35 years....so my brother, sister and I went together and got them a Hot Air Balloon Ride to Celebrate ;)
Due to weather and schedules....they weren't able to go last year...but
Sept. 8th they were able to take their trip ;)
I picked up the kids at school and raced up to Spokane (about 2hrs away) to be able to watch them take off...their launch time was 5pm.  Even getting stuck in construction traffic and heading to the wrong "launch area"...we made it thanks to my sister's good eye at spotting us fly by on the highway ;)
She called me and redirected us...and we got there with -no kiddn' like maybe 10 minutes to spare...
They were finishing filling it up as we arrived...and then they climbed in....

Dad on the left helping out

off they go......

up...up...and AWAY!

Dan with the "Balloon Trailer Guy".....we got to follow him as he followed the balloon.  This way we could watch them along their trip ;)  It was a bit crazy along the highway..but we managed to fit the van/trailer, Dan's rig, and the Suburban in all the little pull out areas ;)
Only a few cars yelled at us...some also were pulling over to watch!!

Aunt Lindsey and the kids watching and waiting for Grandpa Boyd and Nana Sharon to float by

Landing Time.....after 1 hour the Balloon Man starts looking for a place to land....they found a farmer's field....that was o.k. to land in

Welcoming committee ;)  Dad got to jump out and help hold it down while they started deflating.

Happy Riders

A view inside as it starts to deflate

A fun thing to watch!!
Mom said it was so hot though....it was a Hot afternoon anyway and then the inside of the balloon has to be hotter to make it float....so Mom and Dad said that at one point the thermometer said 125 degrees inside the basket...that's hot!!  They had lots of water to drink..but still...wow!
Then they ended the night with a tradition of the balloon flyers...to toast champange...as he told some history of why that started with the balloon landings.....they even had sparkling cider for the kids
Made for a late night on a school night...but really how often do you know someone riding in a hot air balloon and get to watch them???  Fun Night ;)

Labor Day Weekend

The kids and I headed to my parent's house for the holiday weekend.
We helped Grandpa spread lots of gravel for their patio and walkway.

The kids had fun climbing the gravel "mountain" and playing(spreading out) the Sand pile. Grandpa did say it was o.k. ;)

Clara view of Grandpa Boyd on the backhoe
It was HOT but the river was still Chilly!!! That didn't really stop them too much from playing in the river --though they did more wading than swimming ;)

Clara and her morning cocoa with Aunt Lindsey

It was a fun weekend: spreading gravel, playing in the river, and visiting with Grandpa & Grandma, Aunt Lindsey, even a quick stop from Uncle Dan, also Aunt Elaine and Mark...and waving at Steve and family as they floated in the river.  And getting to sleep in a Cabin ;)

End of August

Oh the life of a child...no cares in the world.....why can't everyone run free like that to catch butterflies ;)

Picture taken by her brother with silly glasses....actually kinda scary I think!

Beautiful sunset the other night!  It always looks better in person..but you get the idea
