An Afternoon Hike

the kids have been wanting to go on a hike in the "forest" behind our house
Here they are all ready with their walking sticks!

Moose tracks!!

Moose Foot..My Foot ;)

Kids by Quinten's old truck....their Great-Great Uncle

After seeing moose tracks all over and even some moose poop...we came upon these tracks...
What could they be?  Probably turkeys is what we thought....not hippos, or eagles like the kids
thought ;)  Then....we discovered all these tracks!!!

the "Kolby creature track"

"Derrick creature" track

"Kassidy Creature" tracks

Clara even found "Clara creature" tracks ;)

Made it to the top field!

On top of the world ;)

Time to head back down the hill.....Smokey is keep watch out for that moose :)

Fun times

For "Cat in the Hat" day...Dr. Seuss Birthday the whole school got these shirts for reaching their reading goals!

Kassidy made some pizza for dinner ...she had fun with her Easy Bake Oven ;)

Boise Adventure

So, after Tom's LIA Graduation, we had the rest of the sunny afternoon to
explore Boise with Tom's parents.
Off to the Zoo we went ;)

Then we made a quick stop by the Capitol.
Tom showed the kids the Senate where he went during one of his meetings.

Then, Mama Debbie and Papa Jim wanted to take the kiddos to Chuck E. Cheese's for dinner.
The kids were so excited :)  They had fun playing the games.....the ticket counter machine wasn't working right...so the kids got a bad deal on their prizes. :(

Well, you think that would be a nice ending to the day...and It Was!...UNTIL
Tom got hit by a car in the Chuck E. Cheese parking lot.
YEP... you read that right...he got hit by a car...
As we left, Tom was making sure we all had the hand sanitizer squirt...I started heading to the car with the kids...I told them to stick close and hurry as there was a car backing out and then before we knew it....I  turned around after hearing a funny sound...and saw Tom standing up off the ground...CRAZY!! I guess he was running to catch up to me to give me some hand sanitizer....THANKFULLY he saw the car just enough in time to do some fancy jump and roll off the hood stunt (that no one saw) and just ended up with some rocks in his hand he had to pick out.  The Lord was watching out for him!
Sure made me nervous....and the guy who hit him.
We had a big lesson with the kids about being careful in parking lots!!

Tom's LIA Graduation

Tom and Kassidy at our Luncheon table

Mr. Waitley introducing Tom....telling how Tom will be remembered for his "one liners" ;)

Congratulations Tom!

Clara ate...but then took a nap on Mama Debbie instead of watching Daddy ;)

Tom the LIA (Leadership Idaho Agriculture) Graduate

It seemed like a long 4 months, with him having to be gone 1 week every month...BUT looking back he is glad he did it and has made a lot of contacts and learned more than he thought he would going into the class.
Plus we got to see him all dressed up ;)
Congratulations Tom....we are so proud of you and love you lots!

Clara's new friend

A few weeks ago now, Clara got to ride along with Tom as he went and visited his Farmer customers.
A very nice man gave Clara this doll..
She is about as big as Clara!! In fact, when Tom was bringing it in the house..I had to take a second look...
as I thought it was Clara for a minute ;)
She has just started naming her babies...so they seem to have multiple names...
but most consistantly...this new one is called Leah ;)

Creative Kolby

For his "Book in a Bag" presentation...he did the story of Peggony-Po.
They had to have some props to retell the story to the class...he created this little wooden Peggony-Po.

Sorry the picture is sideways...but you get the idea.  Kolby's class had to make a Valentine Box that reflected them...and well he loves sock monkeys...I thought he did an awesome job replicating one!

Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet...the boys made cakes for the silent cake auction that had the theme of "Outdoors"
His cake was decorated to look like his fort out behind the house :)

He was very proud of this lego crocodile that he made with No instructions to follow ;)
We put it on the lego.com site ;)
