Fall

These crocuses show up every year...such a nice surprise in the beginning days of fall. And to think that my Great Aunt Elnora probably planted these how many years ago...

Tour de Grantparents Part 2

We got back on a Saturday night....tried but didn't make it to church Sunday. But we spent the day doing laundry and repacking so we could leave bright and early Monday morning. Then we headed up to the Boyd Grandparent's house. But first we met Grandma and went to Spokane to finish school shopping and visit Great Grandma Cline...then we headed to their house to have birthday dinner/cake for Grandma.

Every year since Kolby was a baby we go with mom and pick huckleberries....well we tried in our "huckleberry'n spot" and this is what we found...not a good year...for berries we hear....and this proved it.

Derrick having fun hiking around and playing outside.

Kolby snorkl'n in the St. Joe River at my parent's house. He's getting better every year.

In Avery at the train museum. The kids also got to feed the Big fish in the fish pond...always fun.

Tour de Grandparents Part 1

Well it all started with a comment from the kids of never going to the grandparent's house...so 2 weeks before school started we headed out. Tom was busy with Harvest....so we couldn't wait around for him.....So...The kids and I loaded up the Suburban and even had their bikes hanging off the back and we took off on a 6 but really 7 hour drive to Richland, OR. I kept telling the kids that if Dad was with us we wouldn't of had so many potty stops....but we made it.
We had a great couple of days spent with the Chamberlin Grandparents. And the weather was great the whole time we were there--we just had missed all their terrible thunder/rain/hail storms.

Trying to get the kid's picture in front of this beautiful patch of flowers in Great-Grandma's yard. I did get one of all of them looking at me...but I thought this one was classic :)

The kids were pretty proud of themselves of how they parked their bikes and worked together to all climb up on these Tall bails :) They had fun riding their bikes all around...and Kassidy was getting more confident with riding without training wheels (their yard area is much flatter than ours)

Garden Crop

Here are the TWO cherry tomatoes we got out of garden this year. They are the size of normal grapes...not those huge Costco ones ;) We planted a Late garden...with not a lot of items...and between that, the chickens, the deer, moose and the funny weather this year...I gave up on the garden...and just let whatever happen - happen. So...we got these, a few zucchini, a couple squash and some Beautiful Sunflowers-which by the way were volunteer from last year.

Let's Ride

Shoes, Helmet....Naaa....who needs those?? I'll just hang on to big sister :-)
And that is how they played one summer afternoon for quite a few trips up and down the sidewalk.
Tom teaching Kolby how to identify different trees.....Grandma Sharon would be so proud!

YUM

Clara enjoying that peach!

Meet Smokey

Here's Derrick shaking hands with our new dog Smokey. We found him on Craigslist 2 weeks ago. He seems to be a good fit for our family ;)
