LAST day of school

This is the earliest the kids have ever gotten out...but the Last day was Friday, May 27th and they even had an early release day and got out at 1:15!!  All the Fridays in May had a dress-up theme...and the Last day was Crazy hair day...so Kassidy wanted a ponytail, braid, and 2 buns...Their were lots of funny hair dos and colored hair....and Lots of Mohawks ;)

Kassidy and her teacher. So long 1st grade!

 Kassidy with the classroom helper
Kolby and his teacher being silly ;)  So long 3rd grade!
Clara with her "buddy" also one of Derrick's speech teachers

Welcome Home Kiddos and Happy Summer Vacation.....they came home at the tail end of a Hail Storm!!! The wind was blowing sideways and I got soaked and pelted with hail (just on one side) as I walked down to the bus!!

Farewell Bakery

Since the spring of 2008, I've had a Bakery connection for my cake decorating down at
the Harvest Lighthouse Cornerstone Bakery in Kendrick.
She would take cake orders and I'd head down to make them.
But, she is closing her Bakery....and this past Saturday was actually her last day.  A sad thing to see her have to close...but this has always been a shop where God has lead her in her decisions for the bakery and it was time to be done.

Alana (owner) and I at the bakery for the last time.

Good bye....big mixer friend...made lots of frosting for my cakes!

Looking from kitchen into part of the front area

Last cake made for the bakery....she gives one to the graduates to have during their practice
Many cakes made and thanks to her...many cake connections over the years also ;)

Random

this rainbow was right out the patio door...we could see the Whole rainbow...pretty neat..but too close to capture the whole thing in the picture

This is how Clara helps me with the laundry....just missing one step-- the soap and clothes go in the washing machine...not the hamper :)
We've been spotting a couple wild turkeys wondering around the field near the house

Well I know the dog is not to blame for this mound of dirt....cause their is no hole in sight....so whatever underground creature dug out their tunnel...must be big....just hope it doesn't mess up the post...which is part of my clothesline!!!

this pansy had the Biggest bloom ever...so I just had to take a picture....so pretty and purply

Troy School Garden

The Troy Elementary K, 1, & 3rd grade teachers wrote and received a grant
from the state to have a school garden.  They are calling it their "Pizza Garden"
They had the ground breaking ceremony on Friday at their garden plot in town ;)
It was a nice day for it...they walked down from the school, each class had a presentation,
and they all sang a song.  The local newspaper and t.v. station(Lewiston) came...it was a fun afternoon.

Since school is out Friday (5/27) families will be volunteering throughout the summer to "help the garden grow" so that next fall the school kids can make some pizza dough and enjoy some pizza-YUM!
Walking - walking...It was warm and sunny..I think we all got a little sunburned...but I'm not complaining! It's nice to finally have the sunshine around!!

garden plot ready to be planted with salad and pizza ingredients!

Kassidy and classmates saying their part in the first grade presentation.
All the kids

Kolby's 3rd grade class presentation. (Kolby is in the center -back-left- it's hard to see)

Kassidy and her ground breaking scoop :)
Each class had a representative to each plant a first plant in the garden...
Kolby got the honors for 3rd grade:)
Koby planting
Every year these classes grow flowers to sell as a fundraiser...and they did the same this year...they just also planted items for their garden.

P.S.  It was "Camo Day" at school if you were wondering why everyone was in camo clothes :)

More Soccer

I'm not sure if they won...but Kolby did score 2 goals during this game ;)
They both played good!

BUBBLES

So the other day, all the kids (except Clara) had come inside.
Then I noticed bubbles floating by the window....I thought "What is going on" well we ran outside...
and there was Clara playing with the bubble gun!  How fun ;)

Mom - we are Hot

So after we got home from town...the kids thought they were so hot...that they needed to run through the sprinkler.....they had to ask me way too many times....and I gave in.  Here in the Northwest....you have to take advantage of the warm days when we get them....and there is a storm blowing in is what they've been telling us.....and we definetly had the Wind today...but it was warm and sunny...so the Crazy kids played in the sprinkler.

Not sure who is crazier...the kids for wanting to do this...or Me for letting them :)

The Park

We had errands to run in town this morning...and they are calling for bad weather for the next few days...so I promised the kids we'd stop at the park and play while in town....and enjoy the sunshine...even though it was a bit windy or "winny" as Clara says ;)

lawn mower

o.k.
so about this riding lawn mower.....
I used it today.....and no kids rode with me....DJ and Clara played nicely around the yard as I figured out the mower ;)
Got most the yard done....but had to leave some spots as there was water shooting out from under the wheels in parts of the yard still.....boy it's been a wet spring...But enjoying the sun and warm today!!

stuff

The lawn is still way too wet to mow...though it does need it....
But Tom gave the "new" lawn mower a spin around the yard- with all the kids...at one time he had all three with him and one chasing him...CRAZY...I told him that is why I need to stick with the push mower...cause..um..I can't compete with that..and they are going to want to ride. :)

I finally got Clara's Birthday blanket done....she has her "Linus" blankie that goes everywhere and she loves the tag...so I made her a blanket full of tags....the kids helped pick out the fabric and binding...and I got it done yesterday :)
Old tag...almost falling off...and the new tags

I think she likes it....though it is just another blanket...
cause nothing can replace her other one...you know--
I just hope it can be a very close second favorite! ;)

Mother's Day Blessings

As we drove home from church....there was this hillside filled with daffodils.....and the kids wanted to stop and pick them for me ;)   So Tom pulled off the road and took the kids over to them.

Kassidy ended up going through the bushes instead of around like everyone else ;)

Me and my kiddos.....it was cold and windy...Derrick and Clara weren't too impressed
with having to take a group shot....
Beautiful flowers from my wonderful kids.  Thanks for your sweetness!
Swan balloon from our Mom's luncheon at church that was put on by all the men...
very lovely job..great food and fellowship!  Thanks!
